The Moorings in Naples FL

The Moorings, Naples, FL. – Widely regarded as the pinnacle of luxury beach living, The Moorings is the bright, sunny oasis you and your family have been longing for. Of course the biggest draw to a community like The Moorings is the tropical setting. Naples enjoys over 300 days of sunshine, with average daily highs ranging from the mid-70s to the mid-90s. Gorgeous, sunny weather means more days spent cruising that classic car with the top down, more dinners alfresco, more time outside in the fresh gulf breeze. Banyans, palms and ficus trees line the quiet residential blocks, lending an exotic flair to local landscaping. As its name would suggest, The Moorings attracts a variety of boaters all year round. Many, if not most, homes in The Moorings include a private boat dock or access to public moorage. The city of Naples also has a “Boats on the Beach” program which allows storage of non-motorized boats on designated public beaches, making it that much easier to get out into the waves during the workweek.

The Moorings community covers roughly 1,300 acres between US 41 and the Gulf of Mexico, due north of Old Naples in Collier County. The Moorings encompasses several smaller bays and coves such as Compass Cove, Bow Line Bay, Hurricane Harbour and Moorings Bay. For home buyers who are looking for a casual, yet refined, beach community, the Moorings fits the bill perfectly. There are many spacious condos and houses to choose from, each with its own scenic view of the neighboring bay or coastline. Homes and condos in The Moorings are well manicured, and tend towards the traditional Florida architectural flourishes that give the area a relaxed, aristocratic feel. Although Naples has become a hot spot for tourists, the neighborhood streets of the Moorings are clean and unhurried, while the excitement and energy of downtown Naples is only minutes away.

Shopping and Dining
When you come to visit The Moorings, you won’t want to miss the shopping scene. Two of the most popular shopping districts, the historic Third Avenue South and Fifth Avenue South, feature both local and international designer boutiques, and art galleries. The Coastland Center on Tamiami Trail houses over one hundred and thirty nationally recognized brands under one roof – perfect for one-stop shopping, or a day at the mall with your friends and family. In addition to great shopping destinations, The Moorings area offers diners a wide variety of casual and fine dining establishments. Locals love getting up for breakfast at First Watch, located on Banyan Blvd, where everything is made from scratch daily. Or, celebrate that special occasion with tantalizing seafood dreamed up by Chef Nicolas Mercier at USS Nemo which is nearby..

Parks and Recreation
Given the gorgeous weather year-round, it’s not surprising to find a plethora of recreational activities in The Moorings community. Of course, nothing beats the simple joy of soaking up some sun with friends while watching gulf waves roll in. Residents of the Moorings have exclusive access to some of the best stretches of beach found in Florida. Plus, Naples and the surrounding area offer visitors a number of great recreation sites open to the public. Lowdermilk Beach Park, one of Naples’ hottest hangouts for locals and tourists alike, comes completely equipped with beach volleyball courts, beach showers, children’s play structures, picnic tables and a concession stand. The park offers two gazebos for rent and is perfect for family beachside reunions, barbeques, work retreats or club outings. Lowdermilk Park is open from dawn to dusk, seven days a week. The Moorings Country Club, at the heart of the neighborhood on Crayton Road, serves as a lively social hub and dining option for many Moorings residents.  Exclusive use of a Moorings Resident Beach Park (for a nominal annual fee) which includes parking, restrooms (built 2012) and a picnic area is another nice perk for Moorings homeowners. Other popular nearby attractions include the Naples Botanical Garden, the Gulfshore Playhouse, and the Naples Zoo at Carribean Gardens.

Between the gorgeous scenery and the casual elegance of life in an exquisite beachside community, it’s hard to imagine living anywhere else. Contact me, or Laurie Bellico,  today to get the latest home listings for The Moorings area.
